"Investing sustainably is not only possible, but increasingly unavoidable. Sustainability is not a separate asset class: it is a prism for analyzing risks and opportunities," explains Sarah Perreard, co-director of Earth Action.
"When economic obligations systematically result in losses without those costs being recognized, a fundamental question arises: is this compatible with the economic freedom protected by the Constitution?" asks Michael Frank, CEO of the AES.
"Although established mechanisms are under pressure, collaboration does not disappear... it evolves. The task now is to broaden the conversation and include more voices," says Karen Hitschke, managing director of 'Building Bridges'.
In response to Jean-Baptiste Fressoz's recent interview, sustainable development expert René Longet offers another reading of the French historian's theses, defending the idea of a "voluntarist discrimination" between the different forms of energy.
Published in Nature, a study shows that once technical, social and environmental risks are taken into account, the global reserves available for geological carbon storage appear much more limited than most estimates had suggested.
"With growth of around 2,500% over the past ten years, the importance of sustainability in investments has therefore been considerably strengthened in Switzerland," explains Naomi Pfister, specialist adviser in sustainable finance for the Swiss Bankers Association (ASB).
"The Paris Agreement gave us a vision; we now need a financial system capable of making it a reality," explains Dominik Rothmund, senior advisor in sustainable finance for WWF Switzerland.
"With public instruments such as the Swiss Climate Fund, the Confederation wishes to position Switzerland as a global hub for sustainable finance," explains Charles-Henry Monchau, director of Investments and member of the Executive Committee of the Syz Group.
"Following the filing of two federal initiatives, the electorate will once again be called upon to decide on the modalities for the deployment of wind turbines in Switzerland," laments Christian Petit, a member of the executive board of SwissCleanTech.
"In practice, the idea of transition has helped legitimize collective procrastination in the face of the climate crisis," says Jean-Baptiste Fressoz, historian of science, technology and the environment.
Founded in 2020, the young Lausanne-based company wants to shake up the rules of building heating and cooling with the help of a concept: anergy.
"A text would have the merit of harmonizing these efforts. But in its absence, national, regional and financial dynamics must not slow down. The business world simply no longer has the luxury of waiting," say Sarah Perreard and Julien Boucher, co-directors of Earth Action.
