"Conflicts have placed energy markets back at the center of attention, with a renewed interest in fossil fuels. In the long term, however, the winners may well be elsewhere," warns Benedict Fatio, head of the francophone market at DNB Asset Management.
"Succeeding in calculating the 'true costs' of food could serve as a compass and steer our decisions toward a more sustainable, healthier and more equitable diet," says Emilia Schmitt, scientific coordinator of the "True Cost of Food Switzerland" project.
"In an ideal world, high-income individuals, aware of their responsibility, would voluntarily give up highly greenhouse-gas-emitting activities," explains Philippe Thalmann, professor of environmental economics at EPFL.
